I finally did it. The man buying it will rent the property and barns until we close and then he will rent the house to me for up to six months until I figure out where I want to go. He is a hay farmer and will begin to move in his equipment over the winter.

This was a gut wrenching decision! Now that it is over I feel relieved. I still don't know if I will stay here or possibly move to the Jackson Hole area near one of my neices. This winter I will be up in the attic going through over thirty years of memories and I dread that more than the move itself.

Wish me luck.

WOW Congrats for making such a big decision. I don't envy you your attic job though. I don't have an attic but many closets around my house and I have been going through things that bring back so many memories good and bad. It is hard to know what to throw out and keep. I wish I could tell you my ho...

I took a heater up to the attic and have been spending five or six hours a day up there. I hadn't seen some of those things in over a decade but now I don't know how I will live without them if I get rid of them. LOL

I'll be thinking of you every day, Janice, because I am dismantling this house (sloooowly) to sell and move to Idaho.

When I think of dismantling this house I get anxiety attacks. We have so much STUFF. I tell my husband when we die the kids are going to get a large dumpster because they would NEVER have time to look over this individually.

And too, I feel like it's a dirty trick to play on those we leave behind.

Downsizing is the main reason I am selling as well as while I get older I don't have the ability to keep up with the work around here. I want to be near family for these final chapters. I am glad to go through these things and I am giving away things to my friends and family while I can still see th...
