Economists from top U.S. banks are not on the guest list for this year’s Federal Reserve summer gathering in Jackson Hole, Wy., according to a report from Bloomberg on Tuesday.
Among those left off the invitee list were Vincent Reinhart of Morgan Stanley, Jan Hatzius of Goldman Sachs Group Inc., and Bank of America Corp.’s Ethan Harris.
There was some speculation that Wall Street economists were not invited because they generally disagree with the hawkish views of Kansas City Fed President Esther George, never a big fan of quantitative easing. George has recently called for the central bank to consider raising interest rates before next summer.
