Today was truly a rare blessing. Although nothing in this world is perfect in whole, I discovered that a day in of itself can be.

After struggling to fall asleep for hours and barely making that goal by day light, I was woke up four hours later to go boating. I had to drag myself out of bed to get ready but I did and once out on the water all of my grumbling stopped.

I noticed that the water was especialy clean and clear for an outgoing tide and that the sky was a blissful blue with nothing but a few white fluffy clouds rolling by overhead. It was just the start of the perfect day that God made and that I even in my imperfection could comprehend.

Once one of my favorite anchoring destinations was reached far away from the packed out beaches along the coast, I gazed out at the panoramic view of beautiful blues and greens of all shades and hues. The tide was low and the sand bars peaked out or nearly did under the waves washing in from the ocean at this particular inlet and knocked down any that might have made it to where we were situated. The air was something quite rare this time of year being a perfectly slightly cooling temperature. We barely rocked.

After lunch, I finally made my way over to the ladder to get in the drink, and with anticipation of feeling the first cold hit my skin I was rather stunned to find that instead it was about the same as the air I was leaving. Within wading distance to the shore I made my way over and right away found my treasure, a stick on the beach to add to my collection in the yard. I was still tired, dragging in fact, so I went back and got what I like to call my flip flop and floaty thingy. I tied it to a cleat but first decided to swim around without it. I was amazed at the sensation of perfection that my eyes, ears, nose and skin was experiencing as I floated, swam, and exercised in the water. Occasionally I would stand up and do a 360 just to be sure it was really as beautiful as I thought it was.

At times I could lay perfectly still and float for several minutes without being the slightest fearful of water going over my head or something getting on me. Normally I am always paranoid at what will sneak up on me and bite my legs off. (lol) Or sting me ....... as I seem to be a beacon to jelly fish. Today I was too tired or maybe just too comforted by my experience to feel anything but complete contentment and peace. I finally got in my floaty thingy, and after a while I fell asleep drifting around behind the boat. To be able to do that in an inlet from the ocean is normally impossible due to the roughness of waves. I fell asleep praying and thanking God for this day which I could only describe as perfect in every way. I wondered what I had done to be blessed with such a day when so many in the world were suffering and there is so much strife. But I was unable to question it for long because the answer came that I shouldn't. For once I felt it was ok to relax, not worry, not think about the hundreds of things I need to do, or the pain in the world because perfect days are rare and I believed that I was given it to experience all of God's beauty, blessings and love.

I wondered if this was what heaven felt like and looked like with complete peace and every where nature singing God's praise.

Finally I woke up and paddled back in to the boat to take a break from all this perfection. But all I could do was make my way to the cabin and lay down to day dream about the blessings and peace. After a little while I went back in and it was still perfect! Right up to the end and even beyond until we made it back to the marina just as darkness fell.

I'm still overwhelmed by it and oh so thankful. I can't remember the last time I had a day like this and no matter what happens tomorrow or in the days to follow I will have this blessing to recall and know that God is good.
