We respectfully ask members not to post complete articles copy/pasted from other sites even if they contain authorship credits and a link back without express written permission from the originating site for to do so is legally copyright infringement.

Articles posted without authorship and link backs is plagiarism.

TeamNetworks.net has a lot to lose by permitting these practices as we are responsible for content on our site even if we did not post it as the owners.

*Unlike large sites that may have a legal team to respond to copyright infringement notices, we are not able to handle such requests without incurring additional expenses.

*Search engines penalize sites that allow duplicate posts and degrade them in status for searches.

*Some of our advertisers refuse to allow their ads to be shown on sites that permit copyright infringement.

*Often times servers will remove an entire site or shut it down permanently for copyright infringements. Site names have been blacklisted by copyright issues as well.

Best Practices

Click the small link icon above the text input frame to paste in the link to the article(s) that you are featuring in your publications. This fills in a preview and image if available as well as the proper link back to the originating legal copyright owner. You may also include the link within the text box.

Insert your commentary, excerpts or both into the text interface.

Typically excerpts should not be more than 3 or 4 paragraphs from the originating article or approximately 20 % of the article whichever contains the lesser amount of text.

By selecting excerpts carefully you can tell a good part of the story and readers can then use the inserted link to read more.

An exception to breaching copyright infringement when posting an entire article is when you get written legal assignment from the copyright holder and provide the information within the publication. Another exception is if you are using the article as a teaching tool under the fair use act. For example if you want to to insert your commentary before or after paragraphs rom the original article for teaching purposes.

TeamNetworks.net periodically reviews blogs, discussions and comments to edit or remove full length copyrighted articles.

*If a link is provided, we will reduce the content to the limit of 3-4 paragraphs or 20%

*If there is no link to the source we will probably remove it in whole due to the time required to research the item for a link.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

We appreciate your help in this matter.

Thanks gaga. It is a problem we don't need and easily avoidable. Sites like facebook or other large networks allow it sometimes and I am not sure if it is due to not wanting to spend the time looking at every thing posted, that they own their own servers on site, have so much content that the number...

But even with a small membership that would require a lot of code work to process automatically or a lot of keepin...

I quit my night job through the winter last week now that my landscaping is picking back up. I hope to be able to blog more and I will keep this in mind. Is it ok if we sometimes post more than the limits that you suggest?
